About this Wiki
You are here: The Music Notation Project --> Community --> Wiki
This wiki is a companion to the Music Notation Project's Forum (Google group) and main website. Its content is generated by the members of our community -- the alternative music notation enthusiasts who support the project and share its basic interests and goals.
The purpose of this wiki is not to provide a comprehensive encyclopedia, but to provide an organized platform for our community's
knowledge, ideas, proposals, examples, experiments, images, and sheet music for alternative notation systems (material that has typically been shared through our forum (Google group)). By topically organizing this material in a wiki we hope to make it more accessible and useful to new visitors.
While the Music Notation Project's website contains carefully edited tutorials and focused presentations of notation systems, the wiki is intended to supplement it by providing a way for our community to contribute additional information on these same topics, as well as on a broader range of topics that are still relevant to alternative music notation. The wiki also provides a place to begin to collect and share examples of sheet music in alternative notation systems.
